Mittenwald

Mittenwald is a small town in southern Germany located in the Upper Bavaria region, nestled in the valley of the Isar River. Adjacent to Innsbruck, Austria, it features the typical characteristics of a small town in the Alpine region. The gabled houses are arranged quietly in a serrated pattern along the streets, with walls adorned with exquisite 'Lüftlmalerei' murals. The roofs extend outward to protect the murals from wind, rain, and sunlight. This place is also famous for its violin craftsmanship. The Klotz family of Mittenwald has been renowned for making violins, violas, and cellos since the mid-17th century. It is known as the 'German Violin Making Town.'
