The old inn Shoraiso, located in Yamanouchi Town, Nagano Prefecture, which was destroyed by fire three years ago, has been rebuilt. The predecessor of Shoraiso was built in 1939 and was designated as a national tangible cultural property. However, it was completely burned down due to a fire in the kitchen in February 2021. The rebuilt Shoraiso, which cost about 500 million yen, retains the characteristics of the predecessor hotel, such as the petal-shaped flower head window. Shoraiso has a total of 5 guest rooms, each with a private open-air bath. Makoto Ono, who runs the inn, said that he hopes that it will become a symbol of Yudanaka Onsen after its rebirth.
