Kasadera Kannon, one of the four Owari Kannon temples!

#Travelingwithme I visited Kasadera Kannon during my trip to Nagoya. Its official name is Kasafukuji, but it is popularly known as Kasadera Kannon. This temple has a long history of 1300 years since its founding, and is also known as a place associated with historical stars such as Nobunaga, Ieyasu, Basho, and Musashi. Kasadera Kannon is a Shingon Buddhist temple, one of the four Owari Kannon temples, and the principal image is the Eleven-Headed Kannon. There are many Buddhas enshrined beside the main hall, making it a temple with many things to see. I especially recommend the Omokaru Jizo statue. The mountain gate is also designed to give you a sense of history. This temple is also famous as the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu was exchanged as a hostage when he was a child. I was also surprised to see a stone monument of the swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. It's definitely worth a visit!
