Hidden Gem in the Old Street: A Spiritual Journey to Osu Sengen Inari Shrine

Walking along the main avenue of Osu Shopping Street, I was drawn to an inconspicuous alley. Turning into it, I discovered a serene and ancient shrine—the Osu Sengen Inari Shrine. Nestled behind the bustling commercial street, it exudes a quiet charm and spiritual energy, making it the most delightful cultural surprise of my day. Following a short path of wooden clogs and gravel, the vermilion torii gates and stone lanterns complement each other beautifully. Though the shrine is small, its atmosphere is pure and tranquil. A gentle bow and a ring of the small bell at the torii gate seem to quiet the entire space. I noticed that the shrine is dedicated to the Inari deity, often visited by shop owners and vendors who come to pray for "prosperous business" and "family fortune."
