Makishi Public Market was opened in 1950 as the Naha Municipal Makishi Public Market, and was rebuilt in 1972, the year Okinawa was returned to Japan. It is a place that is loved as the kitchen of the citizens and residents of the prefecture. Although the First Makishi Public Market has been replaced by a new building, once you step inside, the atmosphere and liveliness of the past remains unchanged. The spirited voices of the store staff echoed throughout the market. It is an entertainment facility where you can eat seafood unique to Okinawa at a low price! The power and beauty of the tropical fish, night dolphins, and shrimp are truly memorable. Since it was rebuilt, it has become even more stylish. You can have the ingredients you buy cooked on the second floor!
