Blue Lagoon: A Must-Visit Destination in Vang Vieng

Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular attractions in Vang Vieng. Visiting Vang Vieng and not stopping by Blue Lagoon is almost unheard of. Its popularity has even led to the creation of Blue Lagoon 2, 3, 4, and more. However, we decided to visit the original Blue Lagoon 1 to experience the authentic atmosphere that made it famous in the first place. Although locals often don’t recommend it, citing its small size and the large crowds, we were curious to see it for ourselves. We went on a weekday around noon, and while there were quite a few tourists, not many were swimming. Most visitors were relaxing in the food stalls and seating areas. The water here is truly stunning—crystal clear and teeming with fish. Another thing worth praising is how clean the area is. Despite the number of tourists, both the surroundings and the lagoon itself are impressively well-maintained.
