The highest national highway in Japan / Shibu Pass

I was inspired by the setting of a skiing movie that was a big hit in Japan in 1987, so I drove from Nagano to Gunma over Shibu Pass, the highest mountain pass in Japan. The scenery along the way was also spectacular, and on the way to Shibu Pass, there are famous places such as Shiga Kogen and Manza Onsen, so it was a very enjoyable drive. Because of the high altitude, there is a lot of nature, and you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and feel at peace. I drove there in the summer, and although it was 35°C before heading to Shibu Pass, the car's thermometer was 19°C by the time we reached the top of 2,172m. Even in summer, you can experience autumn-like temperatures, so it's worth going just for that, but in addition, it has a spectacular view, nature, and hot springs, so it's a great drive.
