Nan'ao Island: A Two-Way Trip to See the Sunrise At four in the morning, the alarm clock rang on time. I crawled out of bed, still heavy with sleep, just to keep a romantic appointment with the sunrise on Nan'ao Island. Stepping out of the B&B, the sea breeze instantly brought a hint of coolness, dispelling some of my sleepiness. I rode the rented electric bike along the winding coastline towards Qing'ao Bay. There were few vehicles on the road traveling with me. In the quiet atmosphere, my heart beat faster with anticipation. When I arrived at Qing'ao Bay, there was only a glimmer of light on the horizon. There were already many people on the beach, some setting up professional photography equipment, others quietly waiting in their coats. I found a rock with a great view and sat down. The waves tirelessly lapped against the beach, making a rhythmic rushing sound, intertwined with the excitement in my heart. Gradually, the sky was dyed orange-red, and the sun showed half of its face, turning the sea golden red, sparkling, and as beautiful as a dream. I stared at it intently, afraid of missing any moment. As time went on, the sun rose higher and higher, and the light became more and more dazzling. The sea breeze, which had been cool just now, was now a little warmer. When the sun shone on me without reservation, I breathed a sigh of relief, my heart full of emotion. On Nan'ao Island, I witnessed the sun breaking through the darkness and dispelling the haze, and I also realized that the beauty in life is worth our best efforts to pursue. This experience of watching the sunrise will be forever engraved in my memory, becoming a precious treasure I have gained on my journey.
