Gezhu Village

Gezhu Village is located in Nankeng Town, Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. Situated on the western outskirts of Nanjing at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, it is a well-known ancient village and the source of the Jiulong River's West Stream. Every year from March to April, the trifoliate orange blossoms bloom, covering the trees in snowy white and creating a beautiful "Sea of Fragrance." The village is surrounded by mountains and streams, offering picturesque scenery. The village boasts abundant tea resources and high-mountain tea gardens, and it has developed a rural tourism industry based on the trifoliate orange blossoms. The villagers maintain a simple, traditional lifestyle. Trifoliate orange trees can be seen everywhere, from the front and back of houses to the banks of streams, creating a rich pastoral atmosphere. Every year, the village hosts a Trifoliate Orange Blossom Festival, attracting many tourists. Activities include theatrical performances, tea art demonstrations, and cheongsam shows. Visitors can admire classical folk houses, tulou (earthen buildings), vast tea gardens, fields of trifoliate orange blossoms, and rapeseed flowers. The trifoliate orange blossoms have helped develop the tea industry, establish high-mountain tea brands, and promote rural tourism. Spring is the best time to visit Gezhu Village, especially in late March when the trifoliate orange blossoms are in full bloom.
