Weekend Family Trip to Nanjing｜A Two-Day Getaway at Purple Lake Resort

With spring blossoms and sunny skies, we took the kids to Nanjing again for the weekend. This time, we headed to Tangshan, Nanjing, for a two-day, one-night trip we'd been eagerly anticipating 😀 ✅ Hotel Highlights At noon, we checked into this legendary hidden gem of a hotel 🏠—Purple Lake Hot Spring Resort. The hotel offers a wide variety of room types, like Kangaroo Rooms and Lion-Tiger Rooms, each with unique charm. There’s even a fishing villa area! The best part? You can see the ocean right from the hotel balcony 🌊. After settling in, how could we miss their famous "Cow & Horse Afternoon Tea"? At the hotel, you can get up close with kangaroos and capybaras, feeding them—adorable overload 💕. ♨️ Next, we soaked in the hot springs (indoor this time). There were so many pools to choose from: Morinda Root Pool, Angelica Pool, Mugwort Pool, and Polygonum Multiflorum Pool, leaving us feeling utterly rejuvenated 💆‍♀️. 🍜 Dinner was a lavish buffet with endless delicious options—we ate until we could barely move 😂. ✅ Zoo Adventure We woke up at 8 AM the next day to a hearty breakfast buffet. After checking out at 9 AM, we left our luggage at the front desk—no need to drag it around. Then, we headed to the nearby wildlife park 🦁, just a short distance from the hotel. The kids were overjoyed, laughing nonstop at the sight of the animals 😄. In the zoo: 🐘 Elephants lazily swung their trunks, 🦘 Kangaroos bounced like springs, Capybaras looked adorably clumsy, 🦓 Zebras showed off their cool black-and-white stripes, 🐯 Tigers stood majestically, 🐼 Pandas melted hearts while munching bamboo, 🦒 Giraffes stretched their necks gracefully. You can even feed them! 🚆 The forest train ride brought us up close to the animals—super fun. The circus show was a must-see, with a jaw-dropping opening act. The performers were incredible: clowns handed out balloons 🎈, and there were magic shows, jasmine dances, and "Moonlight Over the Lotus Pond" performances. The sea lion show was equally amazing. Plus, there’s a kids' paradise with a Ferris wheel 🎡, pirate ship, carousel, bumper cars, and more—so much to do that one day wasn’t enough!
