Hotel Harvest Nasu: A Memorable Stay

Arriving at the hotel around 7:15 PM, I proceed with check-in. The staff provides an explanation of the hotel's layout along with a map. This is a crucial moment as they share all the necessary information, including usage instructions and the shortest walking routes, within this brief period. The next morning, I request a taxi reservation for 8 AM, connecting with two companies, but both are fully booked, resulting in failure. Consequently, two morning plans are canceled. However, I have a Plan B, so it's fine. The resort-style hotel consists of three 4-story buildings. There are over 20 standalone cottage-style guest rooms, along with a golf course and more than 100 private villas forming the Tokyu Village—a massive clubhouse. The Tokyu Group, which owns subsidiaries like Shibuya 109, Tokyu Hotels, and Tokyu Hands, boasts vast assets. Most accommodations are based on the concept of member-only Harvest Club condos. I stayed as a general guest during a weekday when the stage was vacant. After check-in, I participated in the dinner buffet. Despite being a weekday evening, the tables were fully occupied. The restaurant has a stunning atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling windows. The dinner is splendid, featuring live cooking stations where they grill steak and fry tempura on the spot. The sashimi is excellent, and there’s plenty to eat, so I pair it with an extra glass of champagne. For the entire 90 minutes, I indulge in a feast. The sushi is phenomenal, and even the dishes are prepared with care. The steak melts in your mouth, so I go back for seconds. The dessert lineup is also fantastic, made with cheese and dairy products from the Nasu Kogen ranch area. Everything tastes amazing. Perhaps the 30 minutes of tension climbing the mountain road made it even more delicious. I finish the course with coffee and gelato. I take a nighttime stroll in the hotel garden in front of my room. The sky is filled with stars, and the Big Dipper feels so close, as if I could touch it. The air is fresh, and the sound of birds is clear. Sitting on the balcony of my room, I write a review of the second day before heading to the hot springs. From my room, I take the elevator down and walk another 200 meters to reach the hot springs, as the hotel grounds are quite expansive. On the way, there are high-end artworks and a library, making the walk visually enjoyable. The hot spring facilities include two indoor baths, one outdoor bath, and a sauna. The outdoor bath is close to a valley, allowing you to immerse yourself in the sounds of nature. I return to my room afterward. Sitting on the balcony, I enjoy a bottle of Nikko beer purchased from the hotel shop, using the trees as my snack, and savor the deep night. The morning sun greets me through the balcony, accompanied by birds. I head to the morning hot springs, which open at 6 AM, feeling cheerful. The lush forest that wasn’t visible at night now greets me. I also try the free massage chair for 15 minutes. After relaxing in the library for a while, I leisurely enjoy breakfast. The omelet is delicious. After spending the morning, I check out at 11 AM. In addition to shuttle service to Nasu-Shiobara Station, the hotel also offers transportation to Nasu Outlet and Nasu Michi-no-Eki. Since I’m traveling alone, they kindly drive me to Michi-no-Eki in a passenger car. The service is touching until the very end. Thank you.
