The Aircraft Carrier in the Heart of NYC: What's Its True Identity?

Amid the skyscrapers of Manhattan in New York, a massive aircraft carrier suddenly appears 🚢. But did you know? This is actually an aviation museum! The carrier is the Intrepid, which was used during World War II. While many people tend to visit iconic spots like the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty, this is an area you should definitely check out at least once when you're in New York! Not just for tourists, even local Americans often visit with their kids. It's incredibly spacious and packed with highlights! Inside, you can enjoy movie screenings and even 4DX experiences. You'll have the rare chance to see historic fighter jets, airplanes, submarines, and more up close (and for some, you can even go inside). As a Japanese visitor, I was guided by a former U.S. military tour guide who stayed with me throughout the tour.
