Ningbo Museum.

Ningbo, Yongcheng, has a history that can be traced back to the Hemudu culture 8,000 years ago. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the State of Yue annexed the State of Wu. Ningbo is located on the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, with the Zhoushan Islands as a natural barrier to the east, Hangzhou Bay to the north, and Shaoxing to the west. The rivers include the Yaojiang River and the Fenghua River, which converge at Sanjiangkou in the urban area to form the Yongjiang River. Ningbo Museum is a national first-class museum, a comprehensive museum mainly displaying Ningbo's history, culture, and art. In 2020, Ningbo Museum and Ningbo Bang Museum were integrated into Ningbo Museum. The entire design of Ningbo Museum integrates Ningbo's regional cultural characteristics, traditional architectural elements, and modern architectural forms. It is a representative work of the new localism style by the Pritzker Architecture Prize winner. The museum's collections include the Tang Dynasty Yue Kiln Lotus Cup Holder, the Tang Dynasty Yue Kiln Carved Lotus Leaf Begonia Cup, and the Tang Dynasty Yue Kiln Patterned Lingzhi Pattern Beast Vein Pillow. The best and fastest way to understand a city is to visit its museums. On this trip to Ningbo and Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan, I first took the high-speed train to Ningbo, stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel Ningbo, and visited the Former Residence of Chiang Kai-shek in Xikou, Fenghua, and the Tianyi Pavilion Museum. On the third morning, I visited the Ningbo Museum, and in the afternoon, I took a bus to Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan. It was beautiful and left me wanting more. A wonderful trip.
