Spring Festival Tour of Ancient Towns in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai (XVI) Xikou Ancient Town: Xuedou Mountain

The ancient town of Xikou is bordered by Xuedou Mountain to the north and Wuling Mountain to the east. The current Xikou Scenic Area has a long history, beautiful mountains and rivers, and profound cultural heritage. It is a tourist area that integrates the essence of humanities, beautiful mountains and rivers, and the solemnity of Buddhism. Xikou Town has three scenic spots with their own characteristics: the thousand-year-old ancient town of Xikou Town; the secluded valley and waterfalls of Xuedou Mountain; and the green mountains and beautiful waters of Tingxia Lake. Xuedou Mountain: There are many mountains, rivers flowing around the mountains, waterfalls cascading down, and three hidden pools. The pools are deep and secluded, and the statue of Maitreya Buddha is shining with golden light. The stone road on the mountain is flat and winding, with many pavilions. Climbing up the thousand-foot rock steps to the top is Miaogao Terrace, a very simple little building, but also a very famous and hidden little white building... After exiting the Qianzhangyan Mountain Gate, you will see the Jinjing Pond in front of you, and on the mountain in the distance is a golden statue of Maitreya Buddha with kind eyes and a sweet smile. That is the Xuedou Temple on Xuedou Mountain.
