Rain or shine, this family-friendly hotel ensures a fun-filled getaway

We planned this Children's Day trip to the seaside well in advance, as my kid had been dreaming about digging in the sand for ages. We booked the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Ningbo Chunxiao, but when we saw heavy rain forecasted for June 1-2 just before the holiday, our hearts sank. However, since everything was arranged and the little one was so excited, we stuck to our original plan. We didn't have high expectations and were prepared to just stay indoors for two days. Surprisingly, we ended up having a wonderful Children's Day experience. The hotel specially launched a "Little Experience Officer" activity for the holiday - upon check-in, we received a mission stamp card where completing five activities would earn a special Children's Day gift. Due to the rain, the hotel adjusted some activities on the spot. We made zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) and baked cookies with our child, and were genuinely impressed by the quality of the finished products - they clearly put real effort into it. The rain stopped around 4pm, allowing the "Little Firefighter" program to proceed as scheduled. The kids were thrilled to wear firefighter uniforms for the first time and actually use fire extinguishers to put out real flames - it was an immersive experience they all loved. The "Little Racer" activity was held indoors on the 11th floor, unaffected by weather. After completing all five activity stations, we redeemed a small gift at the front desk. The kids had so much fun that time flew by at the hotel. For dinner, we tried the hotel's Chinese restaurant, The Sea, which served excellent local Ningbo cuisine that satisfied our whole family. This hotel truly delivered beyond expectations. Their family programs are indeed diverse - besides these activities, they have a large E-WOWO Playland with a simulated sandpit and climbing structures, spacious enough for many kids to play together. We did brave the rain to visit the wild beach under Meishan Red Bridge - after all, what child can resist puddle-jumping and sand-digging? The two days passed leisurely, creating unforgettable vacation memories. Highly recommended for families traveling with children!
