Obu City History and Folklore Museum: A museum that gives you a taste of the Showa era

I went to the Obu City History and Folklore Museum. Admission is free. The streetscape of the Showa era was recreated, with bicycle shops, electronics stores, toy stores, candy stores, and camera stores lined up. There were many nostalgic daily necessities, so it was well worth a visit. There was an exhibition corner that restored part of a rice-shaped farmhouse (farmhouse) in the Obu area that remained from the early Meiji period to the 1950s, and the rice-shaped farmhouse was a typical layout of a four-room farmhouse at that time. Inside the room, you could feel the life of a farmhouse, with a low table and tea chest in the living room, a dressing table in the back room, a treadle sewing machine, and other daily necessities. At the paper art exhibition, many cars from the Showa era were on display, and there was also a model that recreated the cityscape of the Showa era. I was able to learn about the history of Obu City. It is within walking distance of JR Obu Station, and there is a parking lot, so it is easily accessible. It is worth a visit! #museum #place to feel history
