This underrated gem offered a slower pace and unforgettable moments. My journey began at the majestic Okayama Castle, often called the “Crow Castle” because of its striking black exterior. Though partially reconstructed, its elegance and history still shine. From the top, I admired sweeping views of the city and the adjacent Korakuen Garden—one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. Korakuen was a dream. Winding paths led me past tranquil ponds, tiny tea houses, manicured lawns, and arched bridges.
