[Onomichi] A foreign atmosphere

Originally a guesthouse for entertaining shipowners of shipbuilding companies, it was renovated into a hotel in 2007 and opened to the public. Architect Hiroshi Nakamura has renovated the lobby, guest rooms, dining area, etc. The world's first double helix-structured Ribbon Chapel won the JCD Design Award 2014 Grand Prize, and the atmosphere made you feel like you were abroad even while in Japan. There are 45 guest rooms in total, including 13 suites, and three unique restaurants and lounges. We stayed in a Terrace Luxury Double. There was only one other group in the restaurant at the time, so we had the luxury of having the place to ourselves for two groups. The other group was a group of bourgeois people in dresses. I wonder what they were doing?
