Expo Osaka｜Ocean currents leading to Japan, Spanish Pavilion presents the narrative of the Age of Exploration

In the 17th century, a Spanish ship was wrecked in the Kuroshio Current, and was rescued by the adventurous Ama from Chiba, Japan. The Spanish Pavilion opened the Osaka Expo's narrative with this story, bringing the country closer to Japan. The Spanish National Pavilion was jointly created by three architecture and design companies including Enorme Studio, using the ocean and the sun to present similarities with Japan. The internal exhibition area starts from the Mediterranean Sea and is laid out using ocean currents. It uses technologies such as film projection and floating projection to present initiatives such as ecology, environmental protection, wind power, and marine biodiversity. After viewing the ocean, you step into a bright orange space that exudes warmth and sunshine. A check-in wall is made up of postcards of Spain, and a screen introduces the scenery of Spain. It is as if you can see the warm and hospitable Spain, opening its arms to welcome tourists from all over the world. The area with the most people gathered was the Spanish wine sales area and the Spanish restaurant where there were long queues at the final exit. It is recommended to visit after dark. Firstly, the sunrise view of the stairs is super beautiful. Secondly, you don’t need to queue at night and can enter directly.
