Osaka Expo: Letting Go and Embracing Unexpected Joys

This quick trip to the Osaka Expo was truly unique! On Friday night, I rushed to the Kuwait Pavilion. The starry dome was indeed breathtaking, but I couldn’t help but reflect on how human civilization still relies on familiar elements like sound, light, electricity, seeds, sand, and leaves to express themes of technology and environmentalism 😅. That said, the Expo’s thoughtful planning deserves praise—especially its consideration for wheelchair users, allowing many to experience the charm of the Expo. However, leaving through the East Gate to the subway meant a half-hour wait in line. The night view was stunning, but my feet were swollen beyond belief... On the second day, I opted for a day ticket and avoided the heat by entering at 4 PM. Instead of obsessing over visiting every pavilion, I chose to relax and enjoy this architectural carnival—eating, drinking, shopping, and sitting around. No queues, no sacrifices for the sake of the experience. Walking along the grand circular path around the venue, I soaked in the cool evening breeze and soft sunset of mid-June in Osaka. The poetic charm of the smaller buildings is something to savor slowly. After circling the venue, I left through the East Gate at 7 PM as planned. I didn’t stay until the end or queue for pavilions, but I paused time in the happiest state. There were regrets and surprises, and perhaps that’s what travel is all about 💕
