Take the train to Penang, Malaysia. It's so much fun! 🚉🌍

Take the train to Penang, Malaysia 🚂🎨 (But my body almost collapsed because I tried taking the 3rd class train for more than 20 hours. Read on, it's very detailed 5555 😂) Penang is an island located in the northwest of Malaysia and has a capital city called "George Town". It is suitable for those who love Street Art and Cafe (or Cafe). If you come here, you will definitely like it because there are many photo spots. It's very chic. Most importantly, Penang is considered a world heritage city. Including the architecture that is still intact Penang seems like a quiet, neat city. It looks chic and cool during the day. But when it gets dark, it's quite lively. I think this place is very charming in terms of cultural diversity that is mixed together on this island, whether Muslim, Chinese, Indian, European and many more. It's suitable for walking and chilling. It's comfortable, but it's really hot. As for traveling, you can walk, Grab, ride a rickshaw or take a bus. But we rented a motorbike to ride around for 30 RM a day (during Chinese New Year, the price went up from 25 RM and the deposit was 100 RM, I'm going to cry). Most importantly, the gas is super cheap, filling up the tank only cost 4 RM, which is about 30 baht. 😋 As for the food, I really like it. The street food I'd like to recommend is Lebuh Chulia. We stayed around here, so there are so many delicious foods. Many people will definitely like the food. The taste is similar to ours. I recommend Old Trafford Burger. The kebabs are very delicious. Another restaurant that we ate at again is Tok Tok. We chose the food on skewers at this restaurant. The skewers are different colors. The prices are also different (be careful not to pick up too many skewers, lol). Then we dipped them in the hot pot and ate right in front of the restaurant. After we finished eating, we counted the skewers and paid. 🎪 As for the accommodation fee, we were charged an additional 13% tax on top of the normal price. It was so confusing, lol. And what I didn't like was probably the bathroom, which wasn't to my liking. It depends on each person. As for the bidet, it was a hose that you have to twist. Some places we found the butt sprayer was actually a water hose. For this trip, we didn't use the internet at all, so for maps, we used the app maps.me, which was very useful. It works just like Google maps, which is great. It's essential when there's no internet. If you want to update social media sometimes, use hotel WiFi or coffee shops. Power plugs • Power plugs are not like ours. You should bring an adapter or buy a converter. Time 🕓 • Malaysia is 1 hour ahead of Thailand. Don't forget to adjust the time. Using money 💶 • It's a good idea to exchange in advance, just in case of emergencies. • The exchange rate in Malaysia is ringgit. 1 ringgit = 7.66 baht (latest check). Let's round it up to 8 Thai baht. For example, buying something for 5 ringgit is about 40 baht. • The sub-unit of ringgit is sen. For example, 7.80 is equal to 7 ringgit plus another 0.80. There are coins of 10, 20, 50, and 100 baht, similar to ours. Think carefully about the change. As for transportation 🚗 • We took a 3rd-class train from Bangkok to Hat Yai (about 20 hours. My body was exhausted. It was a new experience!!!) And of course the train arrived late) Price 259 baht • Then take the train from Hat Yai to Padang Besar at 14.00 hrs. Price 50 baht, about 45 minutes, get off at the Malaysian side at the last station. • When you arrive at Padang Besar, go through the passport check, walk up to the 2nd floor and buy a ticket to ButterWorth, price 11.40 RM, about 91 baht, about 1.45 hours. Don't throw away the ticket because some places will have officers to check it. • When we arrive at B'Worth, we walk through the mall and buy a Feri boat ticket, price 1.40 RM, buy only for the outbound trip, no need to pay for the return trip. In total, it took us almost 24 hours, it was tiring but not all bad. We got to sit and watch the sunset on the train. In the morning, we also got to watch the sunrise, but it didn't arrive yet. But if you're hungry, there are vendors all night long, lol. For those who prefer to fly, I recommend flying, it's only about an hour away. For the return trip, as usual, we took the train to Padang Besar. Then walk to take a van back to Hat Yai at the fresh market. The van fare is 50 baht per person. And of course, we chose the sleeper train for the return trip. 5555 I hope this post is useful and a guideline for those who plan to travel to Penang. #PaiTravel #MalaysiaTravel #StreetArtPenang #PenangTravel #WorldHeritageCity #Pinang #TakeTheTrainToPenang #Penang #Penang #WaitingForTheDayToDepart #MissNature
