The general admission ticket costs 750 EGP and grants access to three free tombs. Paid tombs include: KV9 - Tomb of Ramesses VI: 180 EGP KV62 - Tomb of Tutankhamun: 500 EGP KV17 - Tomb of Seti I: 1800 EGP Shuttle Service: 20 EGP for a ride from the ticket office to the Valley of the Kings, which is about 1 kilometer away. If you purchase paper tickets on-site, make sure to keep them safe. Each visit will result in a hole punch on your ticket, and once you’ve visited three tombs, you’ll need to pay extra for additional entries. Tip: It’s recommended to buy electronic tickets on egymonuments. You can scan the QR code for entry, allowing access to all free tombs. Suggested itinerary for photo spots: Free tombs: KV2 + KV6 + KV14 Paid tomb: KV62 (Tutankhamun) Details: KV2 - Tomb of Ramesses II Located near the entrance of the Valley of the Kings, this large tomb features vibrant yellow, blue, and red wall inscriptions. It’s a popular spot, so visiting during off-peak hours is advised. KV6 - Tomb of Ramesses IX Though smaller in size, this tomb boasts well-preserved murals. The antechamber is adorned with animal decorations from the Book of the Dead, showcasing a unique artistic style that’s highly appreciated. KV14 - Tomb of Tausert and Setnakht This double tomb houses two pharaohs, though they weren’t related. The tomb features exquisite murals depicting stories from the Book of Caverns and the Book of the Dead. Located deep within the Valley of the Kings, it’s less crowded, offering a more private experience. KV9 - Tomb of Ramesses VI This tomb is well-preserved, with vibrant murals illustrating ancient Egyptian religious rituals and the pharaoh’s journey to the afterlife. Among the paid tombs, it offers great value for its price. KV62 - Tomb of Tutankhamun A must-visit! This small and hidden tomb survived looters, preserving its treasures. The famous golden mask was discovered here, making the young pharaoh Tutankhamun one of the most renowned figures in history. His mummy is still housed in the tomb, providing a truly awe-inspiring experience. KV17 - Tomb of Seti I The most luxurious tomb in the Valley of the Kings, featuring stunning reliefs and a ceiling painted with a blue starry sky. It showcases the supreme status and wealth of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. However, the ticket price is quite steep, and after visiting other tombs, you might experience visual fatigue, so we decided to skip this one.
