Depart from Shanghai and stay at the stunning MGM Hotel!

Qingdao Diaoyutai Hotel has mountains and sea in sight, and the bright moon is as flat as the sea. This time I came to Qingdao during the Mid-Autumn Festival and chose the Diaoyutai State Grand Qingdao. Compared with the magnificent gate of MGM next door, Diaoyutai exudes a calm and heavy temperament. The hotel has a courtyard-style entrance and a tall first-floor lobby (a bit like the first-floor lobby of the Ritz-Carlton in Harbin). The decoration is rich but comfortable, with high ceilings and a small lounge area next to it. I really like its design and style. Hotel service: I stayed there for three days in total. I felt it was quite average when I came in on the first day. No one fulfilled their due responsibilities in their respective positions. Overall, I felt much better in the next two days. Facilities: The hotel lobby is on the 51st floor, but the pool and gym are shared with MGM. The room facilities are quite good, and the hair dryer is from Dyson. There were also many bottles of alcohol in the minibar. But the flooring and some maintenance were less than ideal and felt weather-beaten. Hygiene: There have been some minor hygiene issues since I checked in. After reporting them to the housekeeping department, they responded quickly. But on the last day of check-out, I found a mouthful of half-dried spit on the bathroom floor, which was speechless. Because it was similar color to the ground, I never noticed it and luckily I didn't step on it. Overall, the hygiene level still needs to be improved. Meals: Hotel breakfast can be enjoyed on the 51st floor or on the 3rd floor (MGM's restaurant). We had two breakfasts at the hotel. When we went at 9:30 on the first day, a lot of food was gone and there was no replenishment, probably because it was too late. But when I went there at 9 o'clock the next day, the food was quite complete, and some things that were not there before were also available. The service staff in the restaurant were all very nice (I didn't go to the 3rd floor as I was afraid there would be too many people, but I heard that there were more varieties of food on the 3rd floor). The hotel is very new, after all, it has only been open for a year, but some maintenance work is not in place.
