Oshidomari: Cape Peshi and the spectacular view of autumn leaves along the road

From the Oshidomari Ferry Terminal on Rishiri Island, walking counterclockwise for about 15 minutes, you will find Ryokan Yukiguni. This inn has a spectacular view of the entire Cape Peshi when you look out over Oshidomari Port. This photo was taken at the end of October, and the autumn leaves along the road before your eyes are simply breathtaking. Next to Ryokan Yukiguni is a spring called Choju no Mizu. There are many spots on Rishiri Island where the snow that has accumulated on Mt. Rishiri seeps deep underground and springs up right next to the sea, and this is one of them. The water is so cold that it makes your hands numb even in midsummer, and it is surprisingly delicious. Be sure to enjoy the impressive sight of the large ferries at Oshidomari Port.
