Rizhao Museum

Rizhao Museum is located on the north side of Rizhao Cultural and Museum Center in Shandong Province. Its new building shares a hall with Rizhao Art Museum. It covers a total area of ​​about 39 acres and a total construction area of ​​about 35,200 square meters. It is a local comprehensive museum. Rizhao Museum was established in 1986 and its original location was in the Comprehensive Cultural Building at No. 36 Wanghai Road, Donggang District. The new museum was built in 1997 and put into use in 1999. On January 19, 2018, the foundation stone of the new Rizhao Museum was officially laid. On January 20, 2021, the new building of Rizhao Museum opened for trial operation. As of the end of 2019, Rizhao Museum had 1,370 pieces/sets of collections and 204 pieces/sets of precious cultural relics. On December 21, 2020, the China Museums Association approved Rizhao Museum as a national second-level museum. Free admission, closed on Mondays.
