A leisurely half day in Rome 🤍

We started from Naples and took more than one train to reach Rome, one of the must-visit cities in Italy. People used to say that all roads lead to Rome. When I went to Rome this time and saw the map, I finally understood why. On our first day in Rome, we decided to walk around and enjoy this famous city! Our first stop was the Pantheon. It used to be an ancient Roman temple, but was later converted into a Catholic church, integrating ancient Roman and Christian culture. We saw too many people and had to buy tickets to enter. We just took some photos at the entrance and then went to the famous coffee shop. La Casa Del Caffè Tazza D'oro is known as the best coffee in Rome. Things move very fast here, and many people just drink a cup of coffee and leave. So, even though you have to queue, you can get your drink quickly. We think the Golden Cup coffee is very smooth and fragrant, and we highly recommend everyone to try it! Afterwards, we took a slow walk to Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful squares in Rome. It features fountains and artistic sculptures. We sat here for a while, enjoying the performances of some street artists and the sun. It was really relaxing! After a short rest, we walked to Castel Sant'Angelo. It was once the papal mausoleum and has a long history and magnificent architecture. Because we visited many similar castles in Europe this time, we did not go in this time, we only took pictures outside. There are fewer people here, I feel very comfortable! Finally, we walked slowly along the avenue towards the Vatican. Maybe it was almost closing time, so there were few people queuing to enter the church. Although we will visit the Vatican tomorrow, we decided to go into the church first! St. Peter's Basilica is worthy of being the largest Catholic church in the world. It was built in Renaissance and Baroque styles by many famous architects such as Michelangelo, Raphael and Bracciana. I was really impressed by the artwork, the magnificent dome and the sacred atmosphere inside the church. This church is definitely one of the churches that you must visit in your life. I really like walking around and slowly traveling in an unfamiliar city like this! If you have time, I recommend you to slowly enjoy and appreciate this beautiful city🤍 #SeptemberDestinations2024 #Italy #Rome
