The Virtue of the Vestals

The House of the Vestals in the Roman Forum was the residence of the Vestal Virgins. The building was originally a three story 50 Roome Palace sitting at the foot of the Palatine Hill. Today remains of the statues of the vessel virgins can be seen among the ruins. It isn’t one of the most iconic of the ruins in the Roman Forum but wandering among the ancient walls and corridors is still a thrilling experience. #celebrateit #rome #ancient
