Nomi no Sukune Shrine in Sumida Ward, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 In 1884, Takasago Uragoro, the head of Takasago stable, enshrined Nomi no Sukune on the former site of the Tsugaru family's main residence. Takasago stable is on the east side of where the shrine is located! Within the shrine grounds, there is a stone monument engraved with the names of past Yokozuna. The letters from the first to the 47th have faded, but the stone monument engraved from the 48th generation remains strong. Currently managed by the Japan Sumo Association, the names are also engraved on the stone pillars of the Tamagaki fence.
