It is famous for the scene where Maria and the children ran around and sang Do-Re-Mi. It is said that Mirabell Palace was built in 1606 by Archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his beloved woman Salome. The garden was created in 1690 by Johann Fischer von Erlach, a master of Baroque architecture, and renovated in the 18th century by architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. However, it was restored to its current appearance after being destroyed by a fire in 1818.
