THE HARDEST CLIMB: MT. GUITING-GUITING

Climbing Mount Guiting-Guiting on Sibuyan Island, Romblon, is a formidable adventure that tests both physical endurance and mental resilience. These can be arranged through the DENR office in Magdiwang town .  • Best Time to Climb: The optimal months for climbing are during the dry season, from March to early June, to avoid slippery paths and sudden fog .  • Gear and Supplies: Essential items include sturdy hiking boots, gloves, helmets, tents, sleeping bags, sufficient food, and at least 3-5 liters of water. Be prepared for sudden weather changes and potential water scarcity on the trail . Mount Guiting-Guiting is part of a protected natural park, home to diverse flora and fauna, some endemic to the island. Climbers are urged to practice Leave No Trace principles, ensuring that the mountain’s pristine condition is maintained for future adventurers .
