In Sanya | Is Atlantis Really Worth Staying At?

This year, I took my kids to Sanya and only stayed 4 nights at Tianyu Resort and 2 nights at Atlantis. Here’s my honest review of both hotels—no exaggeration, no bias. I’ll share about Tianyu later; feel free to follow if interested. 📍Sanya Atlantis 🏠Address: No. 36 Haitang North Road, Haitang Bay 🚗Transport: About a 45-minute drive from Phoenix Airport. The hotel offers shuttle services (advance booking required). Alternatively, take Bus 33 directly (~1.5h). 🔸My experience: 🔹The hotel is grand, with its own mall, aquarium, and water park. Perfect for families—dining, shopping, and water fun all in one place. 🔹Service is detail-oriented. Room upgrades during peak season were hassle-free, check-in was quick, and requests were handled promptly. 🔹Plenty of activities. The aquarium and water park can easily fill a day—young kids enjoy the pools/aquarium, while older ones love the water park. Unlimited access for guests! 🔹The hotel buffet is fantastic; kids adored it. But dining is generally pricey—casual meals in the mall start at ¥150/person. 🔹Facilities are new and well-equipped. Compared to Tianyu’s dated vibe, Atlantis feels like a whole new world. Free soft drinks on tap, and the bed rails were lifesavers! 🔹Haitang Bay’s beach doesn’t allow swimming, but the sand is finer than Yalong Bay’s. The hotel is close to the duty-free mall. 🌟Activity highlights: ✔️Atlantis Waterpark 🔸Ticket: ¥298; Hours: 10:00–21:00 🔸Six themed zones: 🔹Poseidon’s Tower: Most thrilling rides—Leap of Faith, Poseidon’s Revenge, Shark Escape, etc. 🔹Princess Tower: Gentler options—Raging Rapids, Cyclone, Wave Rider, etc. 🔹Lazy River: A relaxing float around the park. 🔹Wave Pool: Seven wave patterns with DJ beats—fun all day. 🔹Splashers Island: Massive water slides for adrenaline junkies. 🔹Kids’ Zone: Best for under-6s. ✔️The Lost Chambers Aquarium 🔸Ticket: ¥198; Hours: 10:00–20:30 🔸Schedule: 🔹Ambassador Lagoon Feeding: 10:15/17:00 (15min). 🔹Touch Pool Talk: 10:45 (10min). 🔹Mermaid Show: 11:00/13:00/14:00/15:00/16:00 (10min). 🔹Beluga Encounter: 11:30/16:30 (15min). 🔹Art Workshop: 14:00–16:00 (2h). 🔹Coral Feeding: 14:30 (10min). 🔹Fish Naming Game: 15:30 (20min). 🔹Beluga Talk: 19:00 (10min). 🔹Aquarium Tour: 18:00/20:00 (30min). ⚠️Tips: Wear long sleeves for sun/mosquito protection at the waterpark. Pack extra towels for kids—sunburn is easy after a full day. ‼️Verdict: We stayed at Atlantis last and had an early flight, so two days felt too short. Next time, we’ll stay longer to fully enjoy the waterpark and get our money’s worth!
