Save the Elephants at Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre

#traveldiaries When you visit the centre, you can see how they rescue and care for injured or displaced elephants. Some elephants have been orphaned or lost their homes due to deforestation. The staff at Kuala Gandah work hard to give these elephants a safe place to live. One of the best parts about visiting the centre is getting up close to the elephants. You can see them playing in the river, getting fed, or just enjoying their day. Sometimes, you might even get a chance to bathe or feed them! It’s a unique experience that makes you appreciate these gentle giants even more. Kuala Gandah also teaches visitors about the importance of conservation. They show how important it is to protect elephant habitats and what we can do to stop illegal hunting. By learning about these issues, visitors can help spread awareness and contribute to saving the elephants.

Rum Titanic Camp

If you’re visiting Jordan this spring, Wadi Rum should be high on your list. Also known as the Valley of the Moon, this otherworldly desert landscape is like stepping into a movie set — literally! #travelinspiration #adventureawaits 🏜️ My Experience: I spent a day exploring Wadi Rum and chose to stay the night at Hotel Rum Titanic, which turned out to be a highlight of my Jordan trip. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the stunning vastness of the desert — orange sand dunes, dramatic rock formations, and endless skies. During the day, we joined a desert excursion in a 4x4 with a local Bedouin guide. We visited iconic spots like Lawrence’s Spring, Khazali Canyon, and climbed a red sand dune for sunset. The silence of the desert and the golden glow on the rocks felt surreal. As night fell, we returned to the hotel, which is located right in the heart of the desert. The ambiance was magical — the sky turned into a galaxy of stars, and we enjoyed a delicious traditional dinner followed by Bedouin tea around the fire. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family. 🏨 Why I Recommend Hotel Rum Titanic: - Comfort meets authenticity: The rooms are clean, cozy, and give you a real desert-camp feel. - Location: Right in the middle of Wadi Rum, perfect for catching the sunrise or joining morning hikes. - Great food: The dinner buffet was full of tasty local dishes, and breakfast had plenty of options. #deliciousfood #foodie - Friendly hosts: The staff shared their culture and stories, making the experience feel personal and special. ✨Useful Tips for Travellers: - Book a jeep tour in advance or through your accommodation. Most tours include pick-up and drop-off from your hotel. - Dress in layers: it can be hot during the day and chilly at night. - Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a scarf to protect against the desert wind and sun. - Stay overnight: Wadi Rum is beautiful during the day, but at night under the stars, it's pure magic. - Disconnect to reconnect: There’s limited signal out there, so take the chance to unplug and soak it all in. 🌵Why It’s Perfect for April Blooms: While Wadi Rum isn’t full of flowers, the desert blooms in its own unique way. In spring, temperatures are pleasant, the landscape is vivid with soft colors, and there’s a sense of calm and awakening that perfectly matches the spirit of April. #aprilblooms #wadirum #visitjordan #springwander #naturalwonders #desertvibes #traveldiaries
