2025 Seoul Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in April)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. The temples and palaces of this city tell a long and storied history. The magnificent natural landscape and modern skyscrapers merge together to form a city that is both young and cultured. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are ancient palaces, while Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village are well-preserved traditional Korean villages. Seoul is a shopping paradise. In Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun Market, Sinsa-dong, and Samcheong-dong, you can find all kinds of cutting-edge fashions, including clothing, jewelry, and make-up. Once night falls, Seoul is even more magnificent. Climb atop the YTN Seoul Tower to feast your eyes on the city's glittering nightscape. The Han River is the background of many beloved Korean soap operas. Seoul's delicious food is not to be missed. Bibimbap, kimchi, and Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) are all delicious in their own right.

Seoul|The beef soup of the locals at the express bus station is refreshing
If you love shopping until your legs hurt like I do, and want to find a cheap and cool place to sit down and eat something, then you must not miss this inconspicuous little udon restaurant in the underground mall of the Expressway Bus Terminal!
It is located at a corner of the underground street. It is inconspicuous but there are always a few local Koreans queuing up there. The store is small and the decoration is very simple, but it has a "daily feel" like what you see in Korean dramas - it's the kind of small canteen where office workers come to eat a bowl after get off work and where Ah Ju's mothers come to sit after shopping.
Ordered a bowl of hot beef soup rice
The soup is simple but not boring, it tastes a bit like a refreshing version of Korean soup stock. After eating, all the sweat disappeared, because! The air conditioning is really strong~
Although it is not a popular online store, the food is very filling and not expensive, so I highly recommend coming here to replenish your energy.

Catch the Cherry Blossoms at Seokchon Lake🌸
Seokchon Lake is one of the most stunning places in Seoul to experience cherry blossom season🌟
🌸The lake is encircled by rows of cherry trees, forming a breathtaking tunnel of soft pink and white blooms that reflect beautifully on the water, interstitial by the surrounding buildings
Strolling around the lake, taking in the beauty of the blossoms, and feeling the crisp spring breeze is truly a memorable experience.🤩
With the towering Lotte World Tower in the background, the blend of nature and urban charm makes this spot uniquely picturesque.

Seoul|High-value accommodation next to Dongdaemun Station, Hotel Skypark Dongdaemun I (Sky Garden Hotel Dongdaemun 1) is a 10-minute walk to Gwangjang Market!
This time when I came to Seoul, I stayed at an accommodation near Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station. Hotel Skypark Dongdaemun I is within walking distance from Exit 5 of the subway. However, if you are a traveler with large luggage, I would recommend taking the elevator from Exit 1 and then walking, which is easier and less strenuous.
The overall accommodation experience was very good. It was very clean and tidy. I felt comfortable and relaxed when I returned to the room. The location is also very convenient. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Gwangjang Market, which is very suitable whether you want to eat snacks or go shopping.
For travelers like me who have a full schedule every day and pay attention to life functions, this place is really a plus.

Koreans are crazy too! Pikmin pop-up store is very popular PIKMIN 4
As soon as I walked into Hyundai Department Store in Seoul, I saw a long queue in front of the Pikmin pop-up store. Almost all of the people in the queue were young Koreans. Some of them were wearing Nintendo peripherals, some were wearing Pikmin T-shirts, and their faces were full of anticipation.
The atmosphere was super lively. Everyone was queuing up, taking photos and checking in. Some people were even exchanging Pikmin stickers on the spot. I couldn't help but get excited when I saw this.
Although it was a weekday morning, I arrived around 10:30 and there were already at least a hundred people queuing up, and the queue went all the way into the department store.
After entering the pop-up store, you will see original imported limited edition products, such as small Pikmin vases, incredibly cute dolls, and key chains with super detailed workmanship. Every item was being snapped up. Some people bought several bags as soon as they entered the store. It is no exaggeration to say, "Koreans are really crazy about Pikmin!" The store clerks were also very busy, never stopping to restock, check out, and assist in queuing.

Yeonnam-dong|The pink cafe is so cute, I love it💌 Birthday to me!
If you love pink, you definitely can’t miss this cafe hidden in the alleys of Yeonnam-dong. It is low-key but dreamy like a fairy tale world. The whole building is decorated in pink, and there are super cute Rainbow Bears and Sanrio dolls. It is a paradise for girly girls!
I recommend their Rainbow Bear Cake the most. It is not only adorable in shape but also has a delicate and smooth texture. Pair it with a cup of coffee and take beautiful photos while eating it, and the atmosphere is perfect. There are also super chewy soft biscuits here, each one is so delicious that you won’t want to eat them!
The key point is to know that there are not many people in this store, so you don’t have to squeeze in with the crowd, and the photos you take will look good no matter how you take them!

So cute! Korean Doosan Bear peripherals are super hot-selling, and fans are rushing to buy this super cute bear! Korean Baseball Game Surroundings
In Korean baseball cheering culture, the team’s mascot peripheral products have always been the fans’ favorite! Among them, Doosan Bears' peripheral products were extremely popular that day. Fans could be seen frantically shopping in stores around the stadium. From dolls, hats, towels to key chains, almost every product sold well. This bear is so cute!
Its round body and cute expression make people want to take it home!
Moreover, some stadium-only peripherals will also have special edition designs, which can easily make people buy too much (laughs).
If you have the opportunity to go to Korea to watch baseball, don’t miss these super cute peripherals. They are definitely suitable baseball souvenirs for both gift giving and personal use!

A paradise of high-quality food that only locals know about! Gourmet 494 is absolutely perfect! Gourmet 494 Gangnam Food Plaza is so fun to visit and the food is so delicious
If you are the type of person who comes to Korea not only to go shopping but also to try out the "locals' favorite high-end cuisine", then you must not miss Gourmet 494 in Apgujeong, Gangnam!
We specially arranged a day to go shopping at Apgujeong's main store, but we didn't expect the food court in the basement to be more exciting than we imagined! The entire Gourmet 494 has a strong sense of design. Walking in feels like entering a Korean version of a high-end market. Whether it is desserts or exotic cuisine, each store uses authentic ingredients.
I also saw many Korean girls dressed beautifully coming here for dates and afternoon tea. The overall atmosphere was more upscale than that of ordinary department store food courts.
The seating area is spacious, the environment is clean, the price is not cheap but it is definitely worth it. If you also like to "eat delicious food in an atmosphere" like me, then Gourmet 494 must be the most worthwhile stop for you in Seoul!

Korea's shopping paradise! Seoul underground streets are super affordable and fun to shop in. Lots of clothing options. A great place to go on rainy days
This time when we traveled to Korea, we went to visit the Seoul underground street. We didn’t expect that this is really a shopping paradise! The store has a wide variety of products, from fashionable clothing, shoes, bags and accessories to daily necessities, and the most important thing is that the prices are super affordable!
Compared to department stores or busy shopping districts, the merchandise here is more affordable, making it suitable for people of all ages to come and hunt for treasures.
As a girl, I really can’t stop shopping! The clothing styles here are diverse, ranging from Korean pop wear, sweet style, simple fashion to casual sports style, and many stores allow you to bargain a little and buy high-value-for-money loot!
Don’t worry if you get tired from shopping, there are restaurant areas at both ends of the underground street, offering traditional Korean snacks, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, etc. You can find a place to sit down and rest, replenish your energy, and continue fighting at any time!
⚠️ Tips: Be careful when shopping as it is crowded
Subway: Get off at the Express Bus Station

Seoul|Walk into KBS Hall and feel Koreans’ crazy passion for variety shows!
KBS Hall is elegantly and modernly designed, equipped with advanced sound equipment and comfortable audience seats, making it a favorite venue for many domestic and foreign artists and audiences.
On that day, I saw a large group of Koreans gathered outside KBS Hall. Everyone was queuing up eagerly and the atmosphere was very lively. I wasn’t quite sure what was going on at the time, until I realized that a popular Korean variety show was being taped there. It turns out that these audiences are here to participate in the recording and even become part of the show’s audience.
Seeing everyone’s excitement, I also felt that enthusiasm. It turned out that they could see their favorite stars and performances in person. This opportunity is really rare for fans!

Seoul | The most popular hotel in Seoul worth staying in. The view of Han River when staying at Conrad Seoul. The best choice for accommodation in Yeouido
"Conrad Seoul", I have to say the location of the hotel is super convenient. IFC Mall is downstairs and Yeouido Department Store is across the door. It is a paradise for shopping addicts. Whether you are buying cosmetics, fashion items or special foods, you can get it all easily!
As soon as you enter the hotel, the lobby is elegant and the service staff at the counter and Concierge are friendly and polite, making you relax in an instant. You can see the entire Han River from the window, and it really feels like you are living in a Korean drama scene.
This hotel is really suitable for couples' vacation, girlfriends' travel, or a high-quality trip to reward yourself. I have already put it on my "must visit list for next trip to Seoul"!

Seoul | Walking Through Korea's Most Beautiful Cherry Blossom Avenue
On Yeouido Cherry Blossom Street, I was moved to tears by a photo.
This spring, I encountered cherry blossoms in Seoul and experienced the purest form of emotion.
Walking down Yeouido Cherry Blossom Avenue that day, the entire street felt like a pink dream. Everyone's faces were filled with smiles; some were holding hands, children were chasing petals, and couples were taking photos together.
One particular vendor caught my attention. He took photos for tourists on the spot, developed them immediately, and carefully placed each photo into a frame, displaying them on his stall. I stood there, looking at rows of happy moments—
A mother tightly hugging her child, an elderly couple smiling at each other while holding hands, a girl laughing brightly while holding her dog.
I don't know why, but tears started to fall.
Maybe it was because the moment was too happy, or maybe because I thought—somewhere in the world, there are people who may never see such a spring or wait for the moment when flowers bloom.
The beauty of cherry blossoms is always so fleeting; if you miss it, you have to wait another year.
If you come to Seoul, I hope you walk here too and feel the warmth of spring.
Seoul Food|압구정하루 Apgujeong Haru】A small cultural shock to your taste buds
During this trip to Seoul, my husband and I decided to try Apgujeong Haru, a sukiyaki cold noodle specialty restaurant that had good reviews online. This restaurant is well-known locally. Its clean interior, friendly service, and location in a prime location in Jiangnan attract many locals to dine there.
We ordered a set meal of pork chop and cold buckwheat noodles, which is said to be their popular combination.
When the cold noodles are served, they look very textured. The pork chops are fried until golden and crispy, and paired with a special sauce, they look very tempting.
But... to be honest, there are some subtle "cultural differences" in taste for us.
Cold noodles are not the type we are used to.
Interestingly, while we were still savoring the food, the three Chinese tourists at the next table also seemed a bit uncomfortable with the food. They ordered three bowls of almost identical cold noodle sets, and after taking a few bites, they quietly left, leaving a table full of food, which looked a bit regrettable.
We looked at each other and understood in our hearts that it wasn’t that it “didn’t taste good”, it was just that our habits were different.
In fact, Apgujeong Haru is a very well-known restaurant among the locals, but for outsiders like us, it may take some time to understand and accept the taste.
At least, we tried it, experienced it, and remembered that bowl of cool and clear cold water.

🇰🇷Seoul Art Tour|Werner Bronkhorst Exhibition The world is as beautiful as a cream cake🧁
This is the first exhibition that impressed me during my art exploration in Seoul. It features works by Australian artist Werner Bronkhorst.
The exhibition is conceived to use nature as a canvas, combining the power of color and life, and each work is extremely visually impactful.
The exhibition will last until September 14, 2025. The exhibition hall is located at "Ground Seesaw", which has very convenient transportation. Whether you purchase tickets on site or pre-purchase them through Naver, it is very convenient. If you pre-order tickets for June-July, you can enjoy discounts!

Yeonnam-dong, Seoul | A charming pie shop hidden in a residential building Pie In The Shop
After checking out, I went to Yeonnam-dong to relax while it was still early. I accidentally discovered this small shop hidden in an alley. It struck me as attractive at first sight and I couldn't help but walk in.
The store has two floors, and there are seats for dining on both the first and second floors. When I visited in the morning, there were not many people and the atmosphere was quiet and leisurely. The whole row of pies on the counter looked super tempting. In the end, we chose two savory pies and two sweet pies, and ordered two signature drinks to go with them.
The indoor and outdoor seats are great for taking photos and the atmosphere is great. I have kept this shop in my collection and will definitely visit it again next time I come to Seoul!

"One, two, three, red light!" This iconic line from Squid Game, which left viewers breathless, has now appeared on a massive billboard in the streets of Seongsu-dong, instantly bringing back the tense atmosphere of the show. Standing in front of this giant billboard, it feels as if you are part of the game, and you can't help but take a few photos to remember the moment.

Recommended budget accommodation in Hongdae, Seoul Local Stitch budget design hotel is so beautiful, 10 minutes walk from Hongdae subway station, high-quality accommodation
Local Stitch Creative Town Seogyo is located within a 10-minute walk from the subway station. It is a newly opened design hotel in 2022. The overall environment is clean and textured.
The most surprising thing is that the public space of this hotel is very large, with a shared kitchen, gym, laundry room, and even massage chairs and reading area. It doesn't look like a cheap accommodation at all, but more like a quiet and designed shared space.
This is really a must-have on the pocket list for students and independent travelers!
The point is, it's not far from the lively area of Hongdae. You can take life photos, visit trendy shops, eat Korean fried chicken, and browse coffee shops easily on foot. There is also a 7-11 downstairs for restocking at any time, which is very convenient.

Seoul | A Must-Visit for Hipsters! Blue Bottle Coffee's Popularity.
When in Seoul, you can't miss the highly popular Blue Bottle Coffee! This specialty coffee brand from the United States has created a 'Blue Bottle craze' in Korea, with almost every branch having long queues!
This time, I visited the Yeonnam-dong branch in Seoul. The entire store has a minimalist and stylish design, with the aroma of coffee filling the air. Sitting by the window, you can see a row of Koreans carrying Blue Bottle cups for takeout, creating a very hipster scene.
I highly recommend their single-origin pour-over and latte, which have a clean and distinct flavor profile. Ordering a cup of coffee and quietly watching the street view is truly a healing moment during the trip. If you're a coffee lover, you must include this in your itinerary when visiting Seoul!

🥐Butterfly cake bread lovers must go to this place! Popular bakery in Seoul, Breadypost, a popular check-in spot: the hipster-style branch in Seongsu-dong is great for taking photos!
If you are a bread lover, then you can’t miss Breadypost in Seoul! This bakery has become popular for its eye-catching butterfly-shaped bagel bread with innovative taste.
Currently, Breadypost has opened several branches in Seoul, including Myeongdong, Yeonnam-dong, Yongsan and Seongsu. The one we visited this time was the first branch located in the "Shengshui Cave", a gathering place for young hipsters. The pure white and simple two-story building is matched with a retro graffiti wall, which is full of design sense from the outside to the inside.
As soon as you step into the store, the aroma of bread hits your nose, whetting your appetite. The signature butterfly pancake is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, solid and chewy
The price is very affordable, with each loaf costing between ₩3,800 and ₩8,000 KRW.
The CP value is very high. In addition, they also sell their own designed peripheral products, such as butterfly cookie-shaped magnets and handbags, which make people want to take everything home.
Here you can not only buy bread, but also walk into a bread museum that will make you fall in love. If you want to arrange your itinerary, it is recommended that you come to buy bread in the morning and visit Shengshui Cultural and Creative Street and the coffee shop in the afternoon. It is very convenient and satisfying.

Visit GOTO Mall + Watch Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain: The Best Way to Enjoy Seoul's Most Romantic Walking Route
Every time I travel to Seoul, Banpo Hangang Park has become a must-visit spot in my heart, especially recommended for travelers who love relaxing walks! I usually start from Exit 8-1 or 8-2 of the 'Express Bus Terminal' on lines 3, 7, and 9.
First, I take a stroll through the super shopping-friendly GOTO Mall Gangnam Underground Shopping Center, then walk about 18 minutes to Banpo Hangang Park. Along the way, you'll see many Korean couples also taking a leisurely walk, creating a super romantic atmosphere!
Once you reach the Han River, sit on the grass and wait for the Banpo Bridge 'Moonlight Rainbow Fountain' show. Just watching the colorful water jets dance to the music makes it worth the trip.
This itinerary not only follows a convenient route but also satisfies shopping, sightseeing, and picnicking all at once. Whether you're with a partner, friends, or just taking some time for yourself, I highly recommend adding this to your Seoul itinerary!
Guide to watching a Korean baseball game for the first time | Experience the most passionate cheering culture!
If you ask me, besides eating fried chicken and visiting Hongdae, what else are the must-do things when traveling to Korea? I would answer without hesitation: "I must go to a baseball game in person!"
Even though I only have a vague understanding of baseball rules, I was still very surprised by the viewing experience this time. I fully felt what it means to have "souls burning together in the stadium"!
|How to buy tickets|
We bought the tickets directly on site (yes! It was so last minute)
Don't worry about language problems, the counter staff speaks fluent English and communication is barrier-free! We said we wanted to watch the game for the first time and experience the atmosphere, and they recommended a very suitable area. The whole process was fast and friendly.
|Competition location & transportation|
This time we visited the Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Take the subway line 2 to the Sports Complex (218) station and follow the crowd. The stadium is right outside the station, so there is no need to worry about getting lost.
|Ticket Prices & Preparation|
We bought a green zone ticket for the day for about 20,000 won and the location was great
It is recommended to arrive early to buy fried chicken, drinks, and snacks before entering the venue, so that you can integrate into the local community while eating and watching
And the Korean support is super exaggerated and not boring at all
If you have enough time, you can review the basic rules of baseball in advance, which will make it easier for you to get into the game. Otherwise, the audience will just keep asking "Who wins now?"
|Suggestions|
There will be a large crowd after the game, so it is recommended to leave 5-10 minutes early to avoid the crowded subway (otherwise it will really be like New Year's Eve)!
There are always long queues to use the restroom.
Even if you don’t understand baseball, don’t follow celebrities, and don’t have a particular favorite team, as long as you come to Korea, like the hustle and bustle, and want to experience the local culture, then "going to a baseball game" will definitely be one of the most unforgettable memories of your trip!
