Tucked halfway up Namsan Mountain, Grand Hyatt Seoul has been operating since 1978. I expected "old-school luxury," but it completely shattered my perception of classic hotels! The moment I arrived, I was awestruck by the lineup of luxury cars at the entrance. The butler opened my car door with such flair—I instantly felt like the lead in a K-drama! Stepping into the 50㎡ Grand Hyatt Suite, the night view of Gangnam unfolded like an IMAX movie, the neon lights so dazzling I couldn't help but gasp. Though I couldn't see Namsan Tower, this view was more than enough to fill my Instagram feed with envy! The room design is next-level! Wooden furniture paired with Oriental artwork, mirrors and lighting creating a premium vibe. Even though it was renovated nearly six years ago, it doesn't feel dated at all—instead, it has this "better with age" retro-chic charm. The bathroom is a whole mood: a tri-fold mirror with built-in lighting, a black-mirrored shower that's an instant Instagram filter. Post-bath selfies? 100% photo-worthy! The dining scene is a foodie's paradise! From the ground floor to the basement, it's packed with gem restaurants—Japanese yakitori sizzling with flavor, Korean beef so tender it melts in your mouth. My wallet was crying, but my taste buds were in heaven! Even crazier, the hotel is like Doraemon's pocket: boutique shops, art galleries, a kids' play zone, and a viral-worthy pool (which turns into an ice rink in winter!). You could easily spend a whole day here without stepping outside! After two days, I felt like I'd unlocked Seoul's hidden level. Who knew a classic hotel could be this fun and trendy? Next time I'm in Seoul, I'm definitely revisiting this magical spot!
