Archive of the Indies - Seville, Spain

It was created in 1785 at the request of King Charles III to centralize in one place the documents related to the conquest of the Spanish overseas territories. The Archive building was built in the Spanish Renaissance style, and inside there are reading rooms and libraries. The total length of the shelves with historical documents is 9 km, where about 80 million pages are stored! The Archive of the Indies regularly organizes exhibitions that will be of interest to all history buffs. In 1987, this landmark of Seville was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Cathedral and the Alcazar. #europetrip
