Tongluo Wonderland - Shangrao, Jiangxi

Tongluo Mountain National Forest Park is located within the Guangfeng District of Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, at the eastern section of the Wuyi Mountains, covering a total area of 19,500 hectares. The park is characterized by Danxia landform features and includes attractions such as Jiuxian Mountain, Baihua Rock, Guishou Peak, and Juntan Mountain. The forest park is situated in the mid-subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with warm winters and cool summers, an average annual temperature of 15.4°C, and a forest vegetation type of subtropical and temperate evergreen broad-leaved forests, with a forest coverage rate of 98.8%. Tongluo Mountain has been under protection since the end of the Tang Dynasty (884 AD) until the relaxation of the ban in the 8th year of the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1869), lasting nearly a thousand years, hence it is also known as the 'Sealed Mountain'. The natural ecology is well preserved, with a forest coverage rate in the scenic area of over 79.96%. Jiuxian Lake (also known as Juntan Lake), with a surface area of 140 hectares, is one of the three major high gorges lakes within Tongluo Mountain. On the western shore of the lake, there are two closely nestled rocks; the left one resembles a thick python, and the right one looks like a protruding turtle head, forming the shape of a giant turtle in intimate contact with a giant python. On the eastern shore, there are two peaks with an altitude of 437 meters, facing each other from a distance, resembling two old men looking and talking to each other. On the northern shore of the lake, there is a rock that greatly resembles the head of an ancient and mighty warrior.
