Shangri-La`s treasure 🙏 Songzanlin monastery

It's been about 20 years that I read the book "Lost horizon" which motivated me to go onto a trip to Shangri-La where James Hilton's famous utopian adventure novel at the mythical sanctuary Shangri-La takes place. You fly into Diqing Airport with a short transit in Kunming and arrive at an altitude of 3600m above sea level. If you feel this might impact your health condition then take the place to the nearby Lijiang and get accustomed to to high altitude starting at 2300m above sea level (I highly recommend to do this). Songzanlin monastery which is slightly elevated on the hill, nestled into the beautiful mountains, overviewing the village and the nearby city Diqing.
