Napa Sea is located about 8 kilometers northwest of Shangri-La city, meaning "lake beside the forest" in Tibetan. It is a seasonal plateau lake. Summer (June-October): Abundant rainfall turns the lake into a "sea," reflecting the blue sky and white clouds like a mirror of the sky. Winter (November-May): The lake recedes, transforming into vast wetland grasslands where rare migratory birds like black-necked cranes inhabit, and herders graze their livestock, creating a picturesque Tibetan pastoral scene.
