Chen Cihong Former Residence

Chen Cihong Former Residence is located in Chenghai District, Shantou City. As of February 28, 2023, it covers an area of 25,400 square meters. It was built in the second year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1910) by Chen Cihong and his family in their hometown. It is a large-scale residential building complex, the first overseas Chinese residence in Lingnan, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, and a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. The Chen Cihong Former Residence includes Langzhongdi, Shoukangli, Shanjushi, and Sanlu Study, with a total of 506 rooms. The architectural style is a combination of Chinese and Western styles, with traditional four-horse carriages mixed with Western-style buildings, decorated with pavilions and towers. As an ancient residential building in Chaoshan, the Chen Cihong Former Residence contains rich overseas Chinese culture, witnesses the development history of Chaoshan people, and records the brilliant achievements of Chaoshan people in the international community.
