A Note on Weather: I visited in early winter, and let me tell you, it gets chilly up there! The temple is situated on a hill, so the wind can be quite strong. Make sure to layer up and pack a warm jacket. Getting There: Numerous tour operators in Luoyang offer day trips to Shaolin Temple.
