Strolling through the hometown of Shaoxing calligraphers

Walking around the hometown of Shaoxing calligraphy saints, I discovered that Shaoxing also has a slow-paced life. Walking on the bluestone road in the alley, it looks like the passage of time, winding between white walls and black tiles. The water in the ink pool is filled with the faint fragrance of ink, silently telling the past of Wang Xizhi once splashing ink here. Each stroke seems to have been integrated into the water waves, smeared with thousands of years of cultural heritage. The Calligrapher’s Hometown Historic District is the most well-preserved ancient city area in Shaoxing. It is the hometown of Wang Xizhi, the famous Shaoxing scholar who influenced the development of Chinese culture, and Cai Yuanpei, the “academic leader.” Suggested tour order: Cai Yuanpei's former residence/Jiemin Library-Wang Xizhi Exhibition Hall-Tishan Bridge-Jifang Bridge-Shangde Pawnshop-Zangpo Lane-Mochi-Jiezhu Temple-Jishan Academy Starting from the former residence of Cai Yuanpei, you can feel the life and ideological inheritance of this academic leader; then go to the Jiemin Library next door to learn more about his life stories and contributions. Later, we went to the Wang Xizhi Exhibition Hall to learn about the past events of the calligrapher and the art of calligraphy. On the Inscription Fan Bridge, we recalled the timeless story of Wang Xizhi’s inscription of the fan. We strolled to the ink pond and imagined the scene of the calligrapher washing his pen here, and then to Jiezhu Temple. , explore the story of Wang Xizhi turning his house into a temple.
