Walk on the Rainbow Bridge in the Clouds and Explore Tianyan Scenic Area, Shennongjia

📍Address: Tianyan Tourist Area, located in the mid-northern part of Shennongjia Forest District, Hubei Province, covers a total area of approximately 926.24 square kilometers. It is adjacent to China National Highway 209 and only a half-hour drive from Shennongjia High-speed Railway Station. It is the most accessible of the six major scenic spots in Shennongjia. With Yanzhiya and Tianmenya as its core, the scenic area is known as the "emerald on the roof of Central China" due to its mysterious geographical location at 31° north latitude. 🚗Transportation: It is recommended to drive to Shennongjia -Self-driving: From Yichang or Shiyan, take China National Highway 209 directly to the scenic area. Self-driving cars can enter the scenic area for free (traffic restrictions apply to some sections). -Public transportation: Take the high-speed train to Shennongjia Station, then transfer to the tourist bus line (about 30 minutes); or take a long-distance bus from Wuhan/Yichang to Muyu Town, and then transfer to the scenic shuttle bus. -Group tour: It is recommended to choose a 3–5 day in-depth tour route including Tianyan Scenic Area, including transportation, accommodation and tour guide services, which can deeply explore Shennongjia. 👍️Must-see attractions: 1. Yanzhiya and Feiyundu (Rainbow Bridge): The highest all-steel structure viewing bridge in Asia, spanning the 2,200-meter-high Yanzhiya gully. When the clouds and mist are lingering, it is like walking in the clouds. On a clear day, you may encounter the Buddha's light in the sea of clouds (you need luck). 2. Yanzi Cave: The cave is hundreds of meters deep, inhabited by swiftlets. The cave is filled with cold wind, and there is a small waterfall at the end. Bring a flashlight to explore the dark cave and listen to the echoes of the swallows; rare Davidia involucrata (living fossil of the Tertiary period) can be seen at the entrance of the cave. 3. Tianmenya: With an altitude of 2,328 meters, it is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round. The cliffs on both sides of the mountain pass stand tall. It is said that Shennong once persuaded Taishang Laojun to change the alchemy furnace here. The observation deck offers a panoramic view of the "Tianmen looming" spectacle; visit the Anthropoid Animal Research Institute under the mountain pass to learn about Sasquatch scientific investigation data. 4. Sasquatch sighting place and Starry Sky Camp: A sign of "Sasquatch Discovery Place" is erected next to China National Highway 209. You can camp and watch the stars at night, combine hiking routes, explore the secret forest trails, and feel the mysterious Sasquatch culture. 🎟️Ticket information: Single ticket is CNY 45/person, included in the Shennongjia joint ticket; Opening hours: 08:00-17:30 (extended to 18:00 in summer). Best season: Spring and autumn are pleasant, summer is for summer vacation (average temperature is 20℃), and winter is for skiing (adjacent to Shennongjia International Ski Resort). 💗Other tips: Sasquatch legend, the first sighting in 1976 caused a national sensation. The scenic area has a Sasquatch Research Exhibition Hall, displaying "evidence" such as hair and footprints. Rainbow Bridge legend: When China National Highway 209 was opened, 108 workers blasted the mountain and used 7,500 kg of explosives to blast out the Yanzhiya gully, and then built a bridge to connect it. What to wear: The temperature difference in the mountainous area is large, so prepare a windproof jacket and hiking shoes; bring rain gear in the rainy season. Safety first. Some plank roads are slippery. Do not go deep into undeveloped areas alone. Many warning signs say that there are poisonous snakes nearby. Respect wild animals.
