Nurhaci's final resting place: Qing Fuling, one of the three mausoleums beyond the Great Wall

Located in the eastern suburbs of Shenyang, Liaoning Province, Fuling, also known as the Eastern Mausoleum, is one of the three mausoleums beyond the Great Wall. It has been included in the third batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units and is part of the World Cultural Heritage 'Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties'. Qing Fuling is quite far from the city center, and it receives very few visitors on weekdays. Fuling is the mausoleum of Nurhaci, the founder of the Qing Dynasty, and his Empress Xiaoci Gao, of the Yehe Nara clan. Construction began in February of the third year of Tiancong (1629) and was completed in the eighth year of Shunzhi (1651). Further expansions were made during the Kangxi (1662-1722) and Qianlong (1736-1795) periods. Fuling is currently undergoing large-scale maintenance, making it very inconvenient for visitors. It is advisable to consider carefully before visiting.
