Shimian Snow Trip: 2 Days and 1 Night of Winter Fun

It's the season to see and play in the snow again❄. I've been to Western Sichuan too many times, so this time I decided to explore some lesser-known snow spots—Shimian in Ya'an, a place where southerners can enjoy the same dreamy snow scenery as Harbin without leaving Sichuan🏂 · ⭕️How to get there❓ 🚗Self-drive: Depart from Tianfu Square in Chengdu, take the G5 Beijing-Kunming Expressway, and you'll reach Shimian County in about 3 hours📍. The scenery along the way is beautiful, especially the Mudashan Tunnel. Once you exit the tunnel, the weather changes dramatically, making it feel like you've traveled through four seasons😁 (Tips: If you take the high-speed train🚄, you can only reach Ya'an Station, and then you have to transfer to a bus to Shimian, which is a bit of a hassle, so it's not highly recommended) · ⭕️Itinerary📅 ✅Day1️⃣   Menghuo City - Sanbai BBQ - Gongga Hot Spring · 🔸Play - Enjoy the rime at Menghuo City About 1 hour's drive from Shimian County🚗, this place has a large area of spruce forest🌲, which looks particularly beautiful with the rime, making it perfect for taking photos📸. You can also enjoy hiking🚶🏻 and horseback riding🐴 here, which is quite fun. · 🔸Eat - Shimian's specialty "Fire on the Float"🔥 If you come to Shimian and don't try Shimian BBQ, it's a waste of a trip! We went to Sanbai BBQ🔥, where someone grills the food for you, so you can just eat and take photos. Watching the flames dance is super cool😎 · 🔸Soak - Gongga Hot Spring♨ A 10-minute drive from Sanbai BBQ, there's a Junlan Hot Spring Resort Hotel·Gongga Hot Spring, where you can soak in the hot spring. The environment is great, and there's even a performance at night, which is awesome😂 · ✅Day2️⃣   Wanggangping Scenic Area - Xieluo Fort - Return 🔸Play - Skiing at Wanggangping🏂 + Watching the sea of clouds ❤️Activity 1️⃣: Watch the rime and the sea of clouds☁️ at the top of the mountain, which is very spectacular. Wanggangping faces the Gongga Mountains⛰️, offering an unbeatable view. You can admire the Gongga Snow Mountain from the viewing platform. ❤️Activity 2: Skiing at Gongga Ski Resort⛷️. We went on the first day the ski resort opened this winter, and skiing was a fantastic experience👍🏻 Tips: The ski resort is in the scenic area of Daping, at an altitude of 2,400 meters, so there's no need to worry about altitude sickness. · 🔸Stay: Xieluo Fort🏡  If you don't want to leave, you can stay at Xieluo Fort in Xieluo Township, Shimian, which is a 30-minute drive from the county. The architecture and natural scenery here are very unique, and you'll definitely feel it's worth the trip～ 💡Tips: Before you set off, prepare gloves🧤, a hat, a scarf🧣, and hand warmers🔥, as it's really cold on the mountain!
