Yuka Sakamaki seen at Orné de Feuilles in Fudomae, Tokyo

#Travelwithme Orné de Feuilles is a shop that sells interior items from France and Europe. Opened in Aoyama in February 2004, it moved to its current location in Fudomae in March 2019. The items on offer convey the atmosphere of Paris, as perceived by the owner, who has lived there for over a decade. Yuka Sakamaki's solo exhibition was held at Orné de Feuilles in the summer. • "I feel like I did this in my past life" "The transfer student from the North Pole" "The mouse hat taught me everything important about life" "I'm Kumakuma Tourist, your guide on your journey called life" etc. Look at the painting, read the title, and then look at the painting again. The title reveals a story that unfolds one step further in the painting. • The face with the impressive bushy eyebrows reminiscent of Frida Kahlo, and the unique arrangement of people and animals. You are quietly drawn in. Not only canvas paintings but also illustrations and manga were generously displayed, and I thoroughly enjoyed my first encounter with Sakamaki's work. It was great. The shop is currently selling posters of Sakamaki. They were sold out, but they have just started selling them again.
