Countryside escape to Bollywood Veggies

#moreinsg Escape north into the Kranji Countryside to Bollywood Veggies, which has an organic farm and a bistro, both open to the public. Have some brunch at the Poison Ivy Bistro. Do not be intimidated by the name though; their food is definitely edible coupled with their efficient and warm service. Their signature main, recommended by the friendly boss, is the Nasi Lemak set which was beautifully plated and served on a banana leaf for the 2 pax set. The platter was colourful with a variety of ingredients, from the coconut rice coloured with the blue pea flower, with some greens and reds from the leaves and chilli. Their ingredients were mostly fresh from their farm; particularly the Moringa leaves home grown and fried tempura style which was our favourite dish. They sell their homegrown produce and other paraphernalia too. You can then walk off the calories with a stroll in their farm and check out the different types of trees and plants, both edible and inedible. You will even walk past a lotus pond and if you are lucky, you may just see some in bloom. Seeing these plants in person is even better than just finding them out from the Internet. Every nook and cranny also makes great photo spots with a paradise-like vibe.
