Laid back “hotel” that has its charm

Booked a stay in deluxe king room, rm 604. The rooms are a distance away from the check in counter. Have to walk a bit to the building at the back to take the lifts to rooms. It’s a little troublesome if you intend to go in and out of the hotel constantly. But along the way, you will come across the jewel of the hotel, a 150 common Pulau tree. it’s really an awe inspiring sight and it’s nice to hang around the tree for a while to feel it’s magic. You’ll likely spot hornbills near or on the tree so keep a look out. I spotted two! Strictly speaking, the rooms of Changi Cove feels more like a chalet than a hotel. But it has everyone you need to feel comfortable. The highlight of the room was the doddle wall, where you can draw and leave notes for your partner or even housekeeping if you like! Cleanliness was a slight issue with my room. Bedsheets had some stains on it and it looked quite worn. However, housekeeping was very prompt to change the sheets when called. Hotel facilities wise, the hotel does not have an in-house pool but arrangements had been made with the civil service club in the vicinity to allow hotel guests to use the pool in the club. There is a shuttle bus service that brings you to CSC as well as Changi village and as far as Tanah Merah mrt station. I would recommend a stay in the hotel as a base to visit the Changi village area in depth or a visit to Pulau Ubin. Watching sunrise and sunsets is also highly recommended, with a nice comfy room to go back to/take a siesta while exploring the area. it would make you forget that you’re in Singapore! #muststay #staycation
