Thousand statue park

#bucketlistreboot Haw Par Villa formerly known as Tiger Balm Garden is an 8.5 hectare Asian culture park. Located at 262 Pasir Panjang Rd, Singapore 118628. Open daily from 9 AM to 8 PM ( last entry 7.30 PM ). Admission is free. The park is beside Mrt Circle line Haw Par Villa station. It was built and opened by Burmese-Chinese brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the developers of Tiger Balm around 1937. The park contains over 1000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, folklore, legends, and history... for example Legend of the White Snake, Eight immortals, Jiang Ziya, Journey to the West and many more. During the 1970s and 1980s, the park was a major local attraction, it is estimated that the park welcomed at least 1 million annual visitors. His noble aim was to immortalise and share the moral values behind the various Chinese legends and educate the younger generation on important lessons in life by decorating the grounds.
