Singapore Heritage Hotel: Hotel Fort Canning

Fort Canning Hill is located in the bustling area of ​​​​the city center of Singapore. From the Royal Hill during the rule of the Malay royal family to the Government Hill during the British colonial and Japanese rule, it is an important monument that has witnessed different historical stages for hundreds of years. Built in 1926, it was originally the British colonial military command center. After Singapore's independence, it was used as the Military Training College (SCSC) and a country club. It was later converted into the Hotel Fort Canning, which is located in the building. The hotel itself is a boutique hotel with only more than 80 rooms and suites. The building retains its original British colonial style, with multi-column white exterior walls and orange-red tile roofs, which exudes a solemn and majestic atmosphere. As you step into the floor of the hotel lobby reception, the archaeological pits embedded in four tempered glass grids are very eye-catching. Inside are cultural relics excavated from different periods in the local area by Prof. John N Miksic, an archaeologist from the National University of Singapore. The design is very interesting. The guest room we stayed in this time was simply and comfortably decorated. It was large in size and had high ceilings. It was said that all the furniture in the room was designed by award-winning designers such as Poltrona Frau. The washbasin in the bathroom faces the park and lawn, so you can wash up in the green scenery every day when you wake up. The swimming pool of the Fort Canning Hotel is also a highlight. It uses spring water from the mountains and a NASA astronaut-grade drinking water filtration system. No chlorine is added at all, so the pool water is as pure as natural mineral water. The restaurant has also been recommended by the Michelin Guide. It provides guests with a buffet breakfast every day. Although the variety is not rich, it tastes delicious. There are my favorite Lapis and Bika Ambon. The dining environment is quiet and comfortable, and the staff are attentive. After a few days, I am satisfied with the overall stay experience.
