The history of the Royal Palace of Stockholm begins in the Middle Ages as the Palace of the Three Crowns. The palace is built in the Dutch Renaissance style and has more than 600 rooms. The royal palace is located in the old town of Stockholm. The Swedish royal family used to live here. However, the royal family has now moved to Drottningholm Palace in the suburbs. But the king still works here and opens some of the rooms and museum exhibition halls to the public. In addition to the floors used as royal residences, the rest of the palace has other uses, such as the Gustav III Museum, the Treasure Exhibition Hall, the Armory Exhibition Hall and the Three Royal Palaces Museum located underground.
